A Prayer For America

Holy and Gracious Father, be with these victims of terrorism. Comfort and hold their families in your ever tender embrace. Give those who await word from their loved ones peace. Be with the injured and the emergency teams that will try to locate and tend to the wounded. Give the hospitals the necessary resources to deal with these situations. Give all of the emergency teams, the fire fighters, the police officers, the military personnel, the doctors, nurses and all of their support people a touch of your grace and peace. Hold them and comfort them, Lord.

Lord, be with our leaders now. Gird them about with wisdom, uphold them in Your righteousness. Protect them and give them your grace and peace to manage these situations in a manner that will be productive and honoring to You, Lord. Uplift President Bush and his support personnel and protect them from further demonic attack.

Lord, if it be your will, help us, as Christians, be offered ways to show your love and salvation to others. Lord many souls in these attacks were not your children, they were not partakers of your salvation and blessings. Some may have been putting it off and their opportunities have been forever taken. Those multitude of souls have just awakened in Hell, Lord; help us to be sensitive to that; wounded and pained by that. Lord give us many opportunities to be effective witnesses for you.

Lord, put a hedge of protection about our shores to protect us from this attack on our country. Lord protect our citizens, our leaders, our military personnel, our emergency personnel, our hearts, our minds and our souls in this time of crisis. Hold us under your wing, Dear Lord for we need you so very greatly. Amen
